Cool Little Boy

These are the new sunglasses and new little outfit I bought him at Target yesterday. He actually wore the sunglasses around for a little while and they didn't bother him!
This is after Daniel gave him a bath ... which again, he really enjoyed. He's all bundled up in a towel relaxing on his changing table! Of course, with the paci in his mouth!

Daddy's Boy - More proof!

Another Monday night of American Gladiators on TV.
As you can see, Jaxon is as content as can be!

Here's a close up shot of J-Baby!
Our first 0-3 month outfit that fits well! We've been in size Newborn this whole time (4 weeks).
I told him to smile and this is what I got! :-)

Jaxon is growing so quickly. He was 4 weeks old yesterday and will be 1 month old on Thursday, the 31st. He goes to the doctor on Thursday for a 1 month check up and to get his papers filled out so he can attend daycare! Will post after the appointment to update everyone on his new weight and if anything's changed!

Daddy's Boy

You can definately tell that Jaxon is ready for Daniel to get home in the evenings by the following pictures: -Here he is just as soon as Daniel walked in the door. Daniel latches on to him and Jaxon (who normally doesn't like laying in this position) cuddles right up to him and just looks up at him with this look of "I'm so glad you're home!"
-This is after playing hard with Dad. He is crashed out on the couch.
-This is my favorite. I have always given him his baths and he's absolutely hated them. I mean to the point of screaming the entire time! So I had the idea to let Daniel give him tonight's bath. He loved every minute of it :-) So, I was finally able to capture a shot of a bath...even though it isn't his "first bath."

New Pictures

Here I am, sitting in my carseat, and I look absolutely thrilled to be leaving!

Bright eyed, just hanging out on the changing table.
Sporting dad's hat! It's a little big, but I like it!

More pictures of Jaxon

Napping in my swing.

Sporting my new boots that Aunt Lesli got me for Christmas. Yes...they're John Deere cowboy boots!

Me and Dad watching TV laying on the floor!

Sitting in my boppy pillow first thing in the morning!

This is Jaxon's cousin, Sterling, who now lives in Japan. They came to visit us before they left.

Jaxon enjoying (or, not to sure about) tummy time on his new mat. He is afraid to stretch his legs out when he's on his stomach right now.

One of our first pictures together as a family. I'm pretty sure I'm still completely numb from all the drugs and the surgery!

Going for a ride in my new carseat. Once we hit the Jeep, it's lights out and I sleep the entire trip!

We have 2 sets of 5 generations in the Birt Family. Great Great Grandma Virginia (in the middle), Great Grandad Gordon, Papaw Ron, Daniel and Me. That's Jerry, Kacie, and Sterling on the right.

Jaxon Robert Birt

First and foremost, let me introduce you to the newest addition to our family.

Jaxon Robert Birt was born on December 31, 2007 at 4:28pm via c-section. It was not an emergency c-section. I went to the doctor that morning for my weekly appointment and she made the determination (after an x-ray) that I would not be able to deliver him naturally to schedule the c-section. It's a good thing too, because she found that the umblilical cord was around his neck. His first name is just one that Daniel and I liked and Robert is after my late papaw Bob, who passed away March, 20, 2005. Jaxon was 7 pounds 14 ounces and 21 1/2 inches at birth. A lot of people say he looks just like Daniel, but I still think it's too early to tell! (Maybe that's just wishful thinking that he'll have some of my characteristics).

He is growing very quickly. At his week doctor's appointment he was +7 ounces and + 1/4 inch. That was 2 1/2 weeks ago, so I'm sure he's grown even more! He is a very good baby, doesn't cry very much at all. We're still working on the "sleeping pattern". He tends to stay up pretty late, wakes around 3 and then again around 6 or 7. For now, while I'm off of work, that schedule is okay, but I'm hoping for something a little more "work friendly" once I return to work. I'm scheduled to return to work Feb. 18th.

First Posting!

Okay, we're new at this whole "blogging" thing. So bear with us!
I thought it would be a good thing to set up this blog for all of those family members who are in other states and cities that we don't get to see on a regular basis and that way they can keep up to date on how things are going and to watch Jaxon grow! I got the idea from Luke, Kacie, and Sterling's blog, which I read all the time! I just love looking at the pictures. :-)
